Jumlah kasus pengguguran kandungan (aborsi) di Indonesia, setiap tahun mencapai 2,3 juta, 30 persen diantaranya dilakukan oleh remaja.

“Kehamilan yang tidak diinginkan (KTD) pada remaja menunjukkan kecenderungan meningkat antara 150.000 hingga 200.000 kasus setiap tahun,” kata Luh Putu Ikha Widani dari Kita Sayang Remaja (Kisara) Bali, di Denpasar, Senin (16/2).

Ia mengatakan, survei yang dilakukan pada sembilan kota besar di Indonesia menunjukkan bahwa KTD mencapai 37.000 kasus, 27 persen diantaranya terjadi dalam lingkungan pranikah dan 12,5 persen adalah pelajar.

Hingga saat ini, KTD di kalangan remaja masih menjadi dilema yang belum terselesaikan. Banyak kalangan yang pada akhirnya memojokkan remaja sebagai pelaku tunggal. “Jika dicermati lebih jauh munculnya KTD di kalangan remaja adalah akumulasi dari serangkaian ketidakberpihakan berbagai kalangan terhadap remaja,” ujar Ikha Widani.

Hambatan lain menyangkut upaya memberikan informasi kesehatan reproduksi yang cukup dan mendalam, serta semakin banyaknya remaja yang terjebak oleh mitos dibanding dengan fakta.

Untuk itu langkah awal, perlunya upaya meningkatkan akses remaja terhadap informasi yang benar dengan merangkul berbagai kalangan, termasuk media massa.

Ikha Widani menjelaskan, selain kehamilan yang tidak diinginkan perlu mendapat menanganan secara serius, juga menyangkut penderita HIV/Aids, mengingat 50 persen lebih menimpa kelompok usia 19-25 tahun dengan kondisinya semakin mengkhawatirkan.

Berbagai hasil penelitian menunjukkan, sekitar 28,5 persen para remaja telah melakukan hubungan seksual sebelum nikah dan sepuluh persen diantaranya akhirnya menikah dan memiliki anak, ujar Ikha Widani.
