 Try to reduce stress in your life as stress can cause constipation.

Headaches during pregnancy are very challenging as over the counter pain killers are not recommended. Read on to see what you can do to relieve the pain from your headaches during pregnancy.

First of all let’s address why some pregnant women suffer from headaches during pregnancy. Within the first 12 weeks of pregnancy the surging hormones play a part in the development of pregnancy headaches. The 40% increase in blood volume that occurs during pregnancy increases pressure within the blood vessels and this itself can cause pregnancy headaches. Headaches during the last month of pregnancy may also be caused by a condition called preeclampsia, which is associated with high blood pressure, swelling and protein in the urine.

What causes early pregnancy heartburn?

Heartburn in early pregnancy is a common complaint. The hormone progesterone is released as soon a woman becomes pregnant and can cause many early pregnancy symptoms which include pregnancy heartburn. Progesterone causes relaxation of the cardiac sphincter of the stomach which is the muscle between the stomach and the esophagus (food pipe). Relaxation of this muscle allows for some gastric acid and food to flow backwards and re-enter the esophagus (food pipe). Gastric acid irritates the lining of the esophagus causing a burning sensation in the center of the chest called pregnancy heartburn.

As your baby grows bigger and takes up more room in the abdominal area, the stomach itself is displaced and squashed. The growing uterus can permanently press on the cardiac sphincter of the stomach and allow gastric juices and food to constantly leak back into the esophagus (wind pipe) which may cause severe heartburn during pregnancy.

Heartburn remedies during pregnancy

Heartburn relief during pregnancy can be achieved by eating yogurt or drinking a glass of milk.

Try a tablespoon of honey in a glass of warm milk for pregnancy heartburn relief.

Eat smaller more frequent meals throughout the day rather than three large meals.

Avoid spicy, greasy, fatty foods, peppers and tomatoes produce extra gastric acid causing pregnancy heartburn.

DHA Sulit Diserap Bayi, Jangan Terpengaruh Iklan Susu

JAKARTA (MEDIA) : Tingkat konsumsi Docosahexanoic Acid (DHA) yang berlebihan akan membahayakan metabolisme tubuh. Sebab tubuh terpaksa dibebani pekerjaan yang lebih berat untuk mengeluarkan asam lemak esensial tersebut. Spesialis penyakit anak Dr. Utami Roesli MBA, mengutip hasil penelitian yang dilaksanakan di Australia, Amerika Serikat maupun Eropa, bahwa di tiga kawasan negara maju ini, belum dihasilkan efektifitas dari penambahan DHA dalam produk susu maupun makanan bayi dan anak-anak termasuk untuk ibu hamil. “Jadi belum ada anjuran untuk menambahkan unsur asam linoleat dan asam linolenat itu ke dalam susu”, ujarnya kepada Media, kemarin di Jakarta.

Lebih jauh ditegaskan, seperti juga lemak susu sapi, maka asupan DHA tsb. tersebut bukan merupakan ikatan rantai panjang, sehingga masih sulit diserap oleh pencernaan bayi. Terlebih lagi, katanya, karena susu yang akan dikonsumsi ini harus dibuat dengan menggunakan air panas hingga mengalami proses pemanasan.

Akibatnya, aktifitas enzim desaturase dan elongase yang memfasilitasi pembentukan DHA dalam tubuh secara otomatis hancur. Karena itu, Utami, sebagai pakar air susu ibu (ASI) mengingatkan kepada masyarakat, khususnya kaum ibu, supaya jangan terpengaruh terhadap iklan susu dan makanan pendamping ASI yang mengandung DHA dengan iming-iming mampu meningkatkan kecerdasan bayi.
“Asam lemak esensial tersebut justru cukup terkandung dalam ASI, bahkan unsur DHA-nya tergolong ikatan rantai panjang yang sangat mudah diserap pencernaan bayi”, ujarnya. Karena itu dia menganjurkan agar bayi diberikan ASI sejak lahir sampai umur 4 bulan, karena asam lemak ASI juga terdiri dari asam arakidonat.
“Berarti, kandungannya melebihi unsur asam linoleat dan asam linolenat”. Setelah empat bulan, katanya, bayi dapat diberikan tempe yang mengandung pula asam linoleat maupun asam linolenat karena lemaknya termasuk ikatan rantai panjang.
Utami menjelaskan, setelah mencapai umur enam bulan, bayi juga dapat diberikan ikan laut, yang secara alami mengandung pula kedua asam lemak itu tanpa harus mengonsumsi susu formula.

Menyesatkan

Ketua Lembaga Peningkatan Penggunaan ASI Rumah Sakit Saint Carolus ini mengakui, semboyan “Empat Sehat Lima Sempurna” yang berlaku sejak dulu dinilai telah menyesatkan masyarakat.
“Orang beranggapan konsumsi makanan sehari-hari belum sempurna jika tidak minum susu. Susu bukan berarti tidak penting, namun bukan segala-galanya”, tegasnya lagi.
Dia bahkan melihat iklan susu maupun makanan bayi dan anak-anak yang diimplementasi dengan DHA cenderung menyesatkan masayarakat, karena produsen memanfaatkan kebodohan
konsumen yang tak memahami manfaat sesungguhnya dari unsur tambahan tersebut.
Sementara, kalangan spesialis gizi di Indonesia umumnya menyatakan masih awam terhadap kandungan DHA dalam susu. Karena sampai sejauh ini, belum pernah dilakukan penelitian tentang manfaatnya.

Dokter Soebagyo Sumodihardjo MSc, pakar gizi dari bagian Ilmu Gizi Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Indonesia, mengungkapkan pihaknya baru mengetahui hal itu dari media massa.

Ketika ditemui Media usai pembukaan lokakarya “Pemerataan serta Peningkatan Pemanfaatan Lulusan Pendidikan Tenaga Kesehatan di Sektor Non-Departemen Kesehatan dan Kesejahteraaan Sosial” kemarin di Jakarta, dia belum bersedia dimintai komentarnya.
“Saya baru mengkliping dan belum membaca literatur”, ujarnya. Dia berjanji memberitahukan hal tersebut seminggu kemudian setelah segala informasi dikumpulkan dari berbagai sumber.

Bahan dan cara kerja : dari bulan Februari 1996 s/d November 1996 dilakukan penelitian pad
pasien dengan 10 kasus pada kelompok ketuban pecah dini dan 10 kasus tanpa ketuban pecah
Hasil : Total rata-rata lapisan penunjang pada kelompok normal 15,75 ?m dan KPD 14,95 ?
(p=0,752). Di daerah tepi robekan tebal lapisan penunjang pada kelompok normal 15,72 ?m da
kelompok KPD 14 ?m (p=0,243). Tebal rata-rata lapisan seluler pada kelompok normal 49,15 ?
dan kelompok KPD 50,15 ?m dan didaerah robekan tebal lapisan seluler pada kelompok norm
37,95 ?m dan kelompok KPD 43,45 ?m (p>0,05). Rata-rata jumlah ketebalan lapisan penunjan
dan seluler pada kelompok normal 64,9  ?m dan kelompok KPD 65,11  ?m serta di daera
robekan pada kelompok normal 53,17  ?m dan kelompok KPD 57,3  ?m (p>0,05). Indek
morfometrik di daerah tepi robekan pada  kelompok normal adalah 0,493 dan kelompok KP
0,327 (p>0,05)
Kesimpulan :  1) Tebal rata-rata lapisan penunjang pada kelompok normal 15,75  ?m da
kelompok KPD 14,95 ?m; 2) Tebal rata-rata lapisan seluler pada kelompok normal 49,15 ?m da
kelompok KPD 50,14  ?m; 3) Tebal rata-rata lapisan penunjang dan seluler pada kelompo
normal 64,9 ?m dan kelompok KPD 65,1 ?m; 4) Indeks morfometrik rata-rata selaput ketuba
pada kelompok normal 0,346 dan kelompok KPD 0,30; 5) Perbedaan yang ada pada kelompo
normal dan KPD pada nomor 1,2,3,4 tidak bermakna

Infeksi TORCH pada Ibu Hamil

Telah dilakukan pemeriksaan serologis TORCH dengan metode Enzyme Immuno Assay pada
ibu hamil dengan usia kehamilan di bawah 20 minggu, yang datang untuk perawatan antenatal di
Poliklinik Kebidanan RSUP Sanglah Denpasar. Dari 100 sampel yang diambil secara acak pada
bulan Maret s/d Juli 1997 umur ibu termuda 18 tahun dan tertua 40 tahun dengan rata rata 27.07
tahun. Ibu yang hamil pertama 32 orang (32%), kehamilan kedua 47 orang (47%), kehamilan ke
tiga 18 orang (18%) dan sisanya kehamilan ke empat 3 orang (3%). Seluruhnya (100%) pernah
mengalami infeksi salah satu unsur TORCH dan seluruhnya (100%) tanpa gejala. Untuk
toxoplasma IgG positif 21% dan IgM positif 5%. Untuk rubella IgG positif 73% dan IgM positif
1%.Untuk cytomegalovirus IgG positif 95% dan tak ada IgM positif. Untuk HSV II IgG positif
56% dan IgM positif 21%.
Didapatkan 2% ibu pernah melahirkan anak cacat, 15% pernah mengalami abortus dan 8%
pernah mengalami anak mati dalam kandungan. Seluruh ibu hamil tidak termasuk kategori
kelompok ekonomi lemah dan 75% mengaku berhubungan langsung atau tidak langsung dengan
kucing, 22% mengaku suka makan sayur mentah dan sangat sedikit (1%) yang suka makan daging
mentah atau setengah matang. Data ini menunjukkan perlunya perhatian lebih serius pada infeksi
TORCH tanpa gejala pada ibu hamil. Pada penelitian ini belum dapat ditarik kesimpulan tentang
hubungan TORCH dengan faktor perilaku sosial.

Preeklampsi ataupun eklampsi sering disebut sebagai keracunan kehamilan, di mana tubuh seorang wanita hamil bereaksi terhadap kehamilan itu, ditandai dengan tekanan darah yang tinggi, dan biasanya disertai dengan kaki yang bengkak, sedangkan pada eklampsi disertai dengan kejang sampai penurunan kesadaran. Penanganannya selain dengan pemberian obat-obatan biasanya dengan operasi atau upaya lain untuk mengeluarkan janin, karena gejala pada umumnya akan berkurang atau menghilang setelah janin dikeluarkan. Keadaan ini jelas menimbulkan trauma bagi ibu, baik trauma fisik dan terutama trauma psikis.

Trauma inilah yang membuat Anda tidak bersemangat untuk melakukan hubungan intim dengan suami, apalagi anda sempat dua kali mengalami operasi. Apakah ada kekhawatiran dalam diri anda untuk terjadinya kehamilan kembali bila anda berhubungan intim dengan suami? Bila hal ini yang menjadi penyebabnya, diskusikan dengan suami Anda tentang kemungkinan untuk tidak lagi menambah anak. Menarilah lagi puan… ini hari baru… lupakan yang kemarin… Met Pagi Peri ”

dikirim oleh seorang sahabat… yang tak pernah mengirimkan sms sebelumnya pada saya… hahahahaa… jadi termehek-mehek… heran bin binyun… lagi kerasukan setan apa yah dia??? setan punjangga mabby… hihihihihhi… ( piss mas,,)

gara-gara sms itu, saya jadi ikut kerasukan setan sastra …hmm…lebih tepatnya keracunan bahasa.. wakakakaka…. dan akhirnya muncul inspirasi mengirimkan seseorang di ujung bumi sana yang konon kabarnya masih lelap tertidur dengan sms simple, penuh harapan untuk membuat hari’nya berjalan dengan lebih baik dan bermakna…knp saya memilih me’sms dia?? krn semalam dia menyelinap ke dalam lipatan mimpi saya.. entah kenapa…

Jelek,tengil…Idung gede nan bulet saya harap semalam kamu tertidur lelap, tidak usah bermimpi tentang saya… karena mimpi akan mengurangi intensitas tidur kamu… untuk bersama saya, kamu tidak perlu mimpi (thx for da inspiration Dee)
